Naming Ceremonies
A naming ceremony is an alternative to the more formal religious baptism or christening ceremonies. The naming ceremony is a day where loved ones gather to witness and celebrate the naming of a baby or child.
The naming ceremony may include a ritual, or an act that commemorates the day, such as, planting a tree or bush that has special meaning. Writing a letter to your child and placing it in a time capsule, to be read in years to come or on a 21st birthday. You may wish to take an imprint of your child’s hands/feet to frame or place in a memory box.
A naming ceremony may involve selecting Godparents, identified family, or friends who in the presence of others commit to playing a significant role in the child’s life, development, and wellbeing and who will play a greater role in the event the parent/s are unable to.
As a celebrant, it is my role to guide parents, provide ceremony and ritual information and resources and contact the naming ceremony.

I also provide an individualised Naming certificate and gift to commemorate the occasion.
